@3 a like needs to be more expensive than a post - encourages discussion
make it too cheap, and people will like and move on without comment

ok but 1c is still a major exponent

you just subsidized my next 1000 posts
Good. Now how does this make you feel? /pay @3 $0.05
The scale should to be adjusted..
In general people are 5-20 more likely to hit the like button than reply, and 10-40 more likely to hit like than to branch. Generally speaking, if you look at general rations of posts from any platform.
Branching interesting info should cost more than a like. Makes people think twice about sharing valuable info vs non valuable info.
I would rather pay $0.01 per like and $0.05 to branch than the other way around.
I think there is a better balance in doing that
Coffee hasn’t kicked in yet, not sure if I delivered my message properly but you’ll get the gist of what I’m trying to say
$0.02 a like, $0.05 a branch
I want at least $0.01 to hit my wallet for an interaction. $0.01 a like doesn't do that.
I was thinking $0.02 is a good value.
No problem in that either. But branching should cost more than like in comparison is my bigger topic of discussion here. I don’t want to see crap posts because it’s cheaper to branch. If you want me to read it in feed, make sure it’s valuable info, funny enough, good enough art, basically make the information reaching me valuable enough for you to want to spend more to share it and reward the content creator for creating it. $0.05 branch, $0.02 like is cool
Make sense 🤔
I agree that branching should cost more than liking.
Branching is using the post, potentially bringing engagement to the brancher's account, so it is right that it pays to do it.
Liking can be less expensive and users that want to give more can click several times or use /pay
i like the click like multiple times argument. it is true. i've done it before myself, even with 5 cent likes. and when i see people using fb, they click like multiple times per post as well. it would need a nice animation, so that the one liking gets a nice feedback and wants to click more often.
in my opinion it comes down to taste. does twetch do be used in a similar way as tiktok insta fb etc. or does it want to work against the zombification of social media users. i think the like button is a gamification element and as such should be handled with care, as not to become like those other addicitive platforms. but for increasing user metrics, sure, twetch could change to be more "successful".
correct me if i'm wrong but isn't there also an argument that twetch does not need mass adoption precisely because the micropayments support a small community platform and we don't need that growth factor to survive?
