At some point in the future, the Bitcoin network capacity growth will outpace demand for block space. From that point on, block size relevance - which will be already much lower - diminishes exponencially.

People that think decentralisation is vital to the world should be buying hashing power, not running nodes on raspis.
If hashing power is well distributed than it is decentralised - block size doesn't matter, focusing on it is a distraction.
