Fair enough.

Now imagine all individual evil combined...

It's similar to how a mob isn't just the sum of the individuals: A different thing emerges, the "spirit of the mob" so to speak, which makes them do things they otherwise wouldn't have done.

Our collective evil is an entity. And it wants blood.

Yeah I think they call that crowd psychology. I find it a stretch too label it an entity as that would allow it to proliferate even after the mob had expired.

It's always there. It can take people at any time. The more afraid/angry they are, the easier. Covid was a wonderful display of it.
