Adenosine is really at the crossroads of life: wake & dream: genetic code & energy. Adenine + ribose sugar makes Adenosine inhibitory neurotransmitter & ALSO is fundamental DNA/RNA nucleotide & ALSO Adenosine Tri-phosphate ATP fundamental energy molecule!

Partially. In my “Iron Firestone of Life” article I was looking out ancient pathway of making ATP with nanopyrite (iron-sulphur). We now use copper (see my copper containment article) & more advanced way to make ATP (mitochondria).

I’ve mostly meditated on the energy side but I need to go back & revisit the neurotransmitter & genetic sides. It could be that Adenosine is the most ancient of all neurotransmitters as ATP appears to be the most ancient form of energy.

I’ll take that as a request! I’ll see if I can write about it in one of my next newsletters. A real challenge as a very broad topic & gets into interdisciplinary advanced biochemistry & neurosci real fast but I’m game!!!
