I don't know the number, but for example the Lightning Conference that took place in Berlin in 2019 was filled with over 500 attendees from all over the world.

I think the people who know nothing about all this are more important than those (like us) that do. 500 is meaningless I wouldn't worry about that I would worry more about the whole idea missing its moment in time.
