We are still struggling with the step from being animals to becoming humans and some already want to be gods.

Devil’s Advocate Take:
But isn’t egregious personal success for some, ultimately for the betterment of all?
It seems there is similarity between those who think it wise for some of us to be gods (+ others will never be), and advocates of billionaires.

People who want to be Gods? With power comes responsibility. That's why not everyone wants to have power. But some people want power without accountability, and they tend to be the most power hungry. Elon can be Elon if he's vulnerable to lawsuits: NOT GOD
It's difficult when there's so much gray area. No one person has exactly the same beliefs, you want to own your own things and you're immediately an ancap. You want to share your things and you're immediately a commie. People jump to extremism too often.
In the end, it seems to me, all that matters is wheather or not we respect people's freedom by not violating their rights.
Voluntary vs. Forced
Even socialism is great when it's voluntary.
The problems start when we start forcing people into our system.
