Iodine is one of 5 elements in what’s known as the halogen family of elements. The other four are fluorine, chlorine, bromine, and astatine. Halogens are all similar in structure to each other.

They can attach to the iodine receptors in your thyroid and take the place of iodine. Unfortunately, these other halogens are poisonous to your thyroid. And you’re constantly exposed to them.

You'll find fluoride in your toothpaste and in the water supply.
Perchlorate(made from chlorine) is a chemical commonly used in batteries, fertilizers, and bleaches. Industrial pollution has leached it into groundwater, which ends up in the food supply.

And bromine is everywhere! It’s an additive that is used in many products that we use every day, including:

Bread products
Citrus beverages
Pesticides
Flame retardant materials
Baby products
Asthma inhalers and prescription drugs
Plastic
Toiletries

👍 It warms my heart to see you talking about Halogens. I wrote an article on Halogen you might like. For chemistry fans, there is even a 6th Halogen discovered recently called Tennessine. http://imeddo.club/news/blog/2019/02/

iMedDo - iMedDo Newsletter Halogen Talk: The Evolution of Iodine - iMedDo In this happy Chinese New Year issue we go back to basic chemistry & describe the evolution of iodine & discuss the halogen chemical family on the periodic table.

Similarity is why iodine detoxes the others & also why the others are so poisonous as they imitate iodine nutrient. They also have reactive similarity with & imitate & interfere with oxygen pathway.

Im getting something 🎃 here. I think Bro-mine (Brother Mine?) might have been an ancient poison ☠️ used by an assassin “brotherhood”. Crazy Romans liked to sacrifice their brothers. Very dark. Just know is poison & iodine is the antidote.
