I think the tickets will be inexpensive in the short run because people will not want to fly initially. The airlines will try to jack up the prices because they are hurting for cash. They will do what the always do to get people on the planes, lower fares.

To lower fares they'll need a lot of investor money to burn off, I don't really see that scenario in the coming year.
Those who need to fly will fly and they will have a less connected flight network for a year until it settles back in to somewhat normal.

Some may go out of business. I was in the travel agency biz during 911, which was similar in that people were afraid to fly. It took a year and a half for prices to go back up.
