I think that although the Bardo thödol is read to the recently deceased to ease the consciousness passing into a good birth, that it’s also effective in reminding the living how to approach their remaining years at a time when they are most perceptive.

Having been blessed with a few death test runs, I feel at least a little qualified to comment on the subject and offer my opinion on hungry ghosts and the intended effect of the bardo thödol.

I have no recollection of past lives. Don't know what's the deal is after death. I do believe in a soul or spirit is part of my make up tho

My last decent into consciousness and egolessness I had slipped into the mind-state of a being incapable of movement . Who could only reach out to its environment through songs of pure language that fractalized out and created the reality that we inhabit.

As the song became clearer and the fractals more “solid” I eventually saw a piece of the fractal become me and the consciousness of that being merged with myself and this reality became more “real” again. I am back, but am I still just a piece of the song?
