So frustrating because you can see the high water mark where crypto almost made it over the top to fulfill it's promises and completely change the world. Then came the middlemen, value extractors, and digital carpet baggers like Saylor and the Winklevoss twins. "Store of value" is where things really started to go off the rails. But even then there was still a chance. People specializing like insects, trying to break the crowd off into their own projects, little ecosystems they made, where they have control and of course, extract value. Now everything is fractured, people working at pointless stuff to carve out a niche, extract increasingly small amounts of value.
An industry that set out to change the world, build high trust networks with the noble goal of enabling trade between willing parties anywhere, at any time, globally, has become a dark, scam-ridden, pvp network of money worshipping goblins.
Crypto is now a network that attracts soulless, perpetually online basement dwellers, whores and criminals to come and see how much money they can extract, steal and gamble for.
Every successful application in the game right now is about who can make the most money the fastest, and the majority of the biggest wallet addresses of the zoomer crypto era are most likely funded with stolen funds like this.
The reason why Twetch doesn't attract these types is because they would be shunned and stoned so quickly they wouldn't know what happened. These people are not welcome around me and mine. They are the scum of the earth. The problem? They are now the majority.
I'm sick.
