Mark Zuckerberg reportedly expressed caution internally about COVID vaccines before their rollout, while Facebook later became one of the internet's most aggressive referees of vaccine-related discussion—removing content, restricting claims and deciding which opinions qualified as "misinformation".
Apparently, asking awkward questions was dangerous... unless you owned the platform.
Meanwhile, Facebook's advertising machine continued doing what it does best: making enormous amounts of money while the censorship department worked overtime deciding what billions of people were allowed to say.
Nothing says "open public debate" quite like a billionaire tech company standing between you and the delete button.
So remember: trust the experts, follow the science and don't spread misinformation.
And if the rules ever become inconvenient?
Easy.
