Yes, coins from silkroad ended up being sold thru BitInstant. I bought my first Btc on that exchange and miss not having to apply to kyc & aml to each account now but its a necessary aspect when you want to reach a mass audience.
Run the numbers and you will find there is no fair way to pay taxes.
