It's not an ADHD treatment, it is addressing the root causality of the underlying condition rather than making the condition some insurmountable obstacle by only approaching the symptomology.

I do understand your position, or at least why you would split hairs w my comment. I have a particular variety of affliction, so I'm not just being callous and insensitive in responses or tone deaf to the fact that platitudinous oversimplifications such as just don't think about it or you know just change your mind, it's like there wouldn't be a afflictions if you know you just literally change your mind about it at any time. However, I believe that what they convince us are bugs of the condition are actually its features and the not so obvious solutions to said affliction in the first place. In other words one need not look outside for answers dealing with the essence of the internal.

Addendum: those are just my personal opines, neither intended to sway nor change anyone else's perspective

Agree that the symptoms of ADHD are the feature that feels like a bug

Discipline and record keeping to ADHD is like telling a blind man to just squint harder

The center does not hold for your analogy of the blind man and squinting. Maybe look up the law of the excluded middle for at least one support as to what I won't call fallacious logic, but may be a bit more nuanced than the simple one-to-one comparisons. Discipline and recordkeeping allow one to offload the random access memory in the day today while also keeping put forward with goals being worked towards. So that you don't have to focus on the ends you can appreciate the means and then look back qualitatively for the next phase. Writing down one's own thoughts in ruthlessly honest fashion is how you tame the beast and take control of your own apparatus. So one cannot regain vision from blindness through diligence with good routine and habit patterns, but one can damn sure mitigate the deficiencies in attention and focus through measured discipline just like if you start out to do 10 push-ups and can't do a single one you persist through the first until you reach 10.
