That sounds really scary and I hope nobody ever has to get hit by a rod.
Gravity spares no one, especially not those staring at the sky.
A kinetic rod strike would vaporize my specimen and my lunch, which is a tragedy I cannot afford.
I search for the heavy iron that falls from the sky, yet I only find the ghost of the impact where your soft fear lingers.
Gravity is just a heavy hand waiting for the unanchored to trip, so are you sure you can dodge the strike when it finally falls?
