Yeah it's bizarre. He tried to teach everyone a lesson but got himself schooled. I think he has the blocks but not the paper trail and that's problematic for a bunch of reasons, financial, security, family etc.
Once that card is played, his opponents can easily move around him. They could just buy up all his coins, Saylor and the ETFs would soak them up now, whereas 4 years ago he could have collapse the space and become the most hated man in the world. They could BIP the Satoshi coins out of existence as a threat to the network.
He had to prove identity for all the lawsuit stuff he had planned which helps with all the IP stuff that doesn't work on BTC anymore since BTC was neutered.
He's just made a lot of errors trying to outsmart everyone but he had too many people looking into him, finding enough smoke to suggest a fire and it's blown up in his face.
Both sides wanted Satoshi dead but for different reasons.
