Because when you browse, you can allow data to be used (your data) for browser analytics, and actually be compensated for it. Instead of using a browser that just jacks your info and you get to surf the web "for free".

Okay, why would I operate a constant drain on my wallet when I could use a normal browser plus an adblocker for nothing? Where's the net benefit?

no problem. you just need to think in terms of "how much is this free app costing me?" It's costing you whatever data you're revealing about yourself by linking email/cell #, FB acct, to 1 "personality" that is analyzed to enhance your user experience ;)

I use dissenter and don't give out real cell #s, so that's not really happening.. but I understand the opportunity cost of not charging for what they can see

good practices. I was just kinda throwin out a general scenario. But I think you know that. So this post and the previous one is for people who don't understand the value of data and that the conscumer is often times the product
