When we agree with ideas that are accepted by the power structure around us, we tend to be convinced that they are right without ever thinking them through.
It seems obvious that they are right and everyone who disagrees is wrong or crazy.
It's property a mixture of laziness and cowardice that keeps us from evaluating the premises and axioms of our own beliefs.
We don't want to think things through - and we want to be on the side of power.
