If @4 is right that miners are governments, then censorship is likely sooner than later. Balance and (healthy) competition over the long term are key.
Something completely disastrous would have to occur for Calvin to cease mining BitCoin, and I don't see anything like that happening. Transformative hardly breaches an accurate description of the power of BitCoin.
