I think this is the case, too.
Although, 'knowing' Craig — those 1.1M BTC won't move until he's ready to prove he's Satoshi. I suspect there's potentially another 2M BTC unaccounted for and 'unrelated to Satoshi' which he's using to drive the price down slowly and incrementally.
Just at enough of a rate that it doesn't ruin people's lives who have heavy BTC investments, giving opportunity to get out, whilst also on the cusp of burning Saylor and the others, making them sweat a bit and encourage more Tether inflations in order to reveal their own hand by force.
The short positions perhaps used to slowly buy up more BTC without hiking the price too much, only to dump it again later.
I think the 80K BTC was a bit of a test to see how everything would react as a result. The whole Salomon Brothers thing seems rather a Craig thing to do 😅
