the inputs are data about markets and resources -- the outputs are valuable knowledge about potentially profitable capital allocations -- the inputs are transformed into the outputs by physical work requiring chemical energy in human neurons

"potentially profitable" is the key word here. Entrepreneurs pay money first to buy capital goods and do not necessarily make money. Labor is paid by the hour or by the job. Laborers do not pay money first.

so you do understand that they're doing a job, doing work, doing labor, using their mind and other parts of their body to produce value from less valuable things .. other than that labor, what do they contribute to the value of things
surely -- now that you recognize that as work -- you can see that the whole of the value is produced by work, that work given access to capital is the only thing that can possibly produce value
No. Marx was a very bad economist who is not worth reading and so are you.
I'm sincerely trying to explain ideas to you and you're just insulting people. Do you understand why I say this doesn't seem to me like the rationality you're usually so proud to display.
I am now officially getting involved in this ongoing conversation.
Sorry, but be more careful and don't show your blatant ignorance so openly. First you need to learn about life and economics and then you need to understand what Karl Marx wrote, what he meant and what came out of it.
The Bolshevik Revolution, WW I&II etc
That is manipulation. I said something that you ignored or didn't understand. Once people do that I just make the conversation unpleasant for them. Acknowledge what I said or I will either ignore you or waste your waste your item to amuse myself.
You're clearly stating here your misunderstanding. You're saying that you think "all value comes from labor" means "all value comes from wage labor." That's not what it means. It means any labor, any work, anyone doing anything, anything at all, just that.
So, that is not what I think. Keep guessing.
Like of course you understand that it doesn't prove Marx wrong that people create value by volunteering. You know that's labor, just not wage or contract labor.
I don't know what you think. It's what you SAID. This is a public CONVERSATION. You're supposedly demonstrating your superior rationality. :/ Labor just means doing stuff.
