You should look into Near Death Experiences (NDE’s). Ive been geeking out on them lately. The god i believe in is large enough that i think we could all have different experiences after death, but there does seem to be common themes with almost all of them.

It is all alive. It sounds strange, but spirits are alive, too. Jesus is alive. I spent two years in shamanism, and I can tell you that not everything you learn there is the truth - at least regarding the spirits I encountered. They heal you at first, but then they abandon you and flee the moment you fall to your knees before Jesus.
