I live in a place where > 1,750,000 people are currently forbidden from leaving their houses (with very few exceptions), on the basis that we have 34 active COVID cases. Total cases since all this started still under 4 digits (550). Excessive or not?

I cld see Australia being used as "proof" that extreme lockdown measures work. AU would be the cherry-picked darling they parade around as why they need to take more freedom away from the ppl. Mayb they already are, I don't waste my time trying to keep up

I could see it too. It would take wilful omission of a whole range of relevant data, but that doesn't seem to stop anyone nowadays.
