VOID TECH SUPPORT
Part 6 - Think of it as an invitation

im in the server room in the basement
it is late. about 2 or 3 am.
looking through log files
debugging the systems
tracing the errors
what could it be?
i remember last night
everything was fine
when i left to go home
people were throwing a party
setting off fireworks
listening to music
i get an idea
but there is no way
or is there?
i check the power system trace
the wireless spectrum analyzer logs
ah
its a light bulb moment
i return to the command centre
i go to the party store
collect fireworks
lots of fireworks
go to the hardware store
grab a shovel
i head outside
put on the heavy metal
dig a hole in the ground
2 or 3 feet deep
set off the fireworks
kick back and watch the show
it was a beautiful sight
the sky, the stars, the fireworks
the popcorners
and then it apppeared
a big ball of light
very bright
moving slowly and silently
that is not a plane or a choppa
the lights in the buildings start flickering
the drone on its route
approaching the glowing orb
spins out of control
and dives into the water
the computer screens
are a garbled mess of characters
i call the other staff over
me: lets go guys
they follow me
on the path
up the hill
to the helipad!
the guard bots disabled
punching themselves
the komodo dragons malfunctioning
eating each other
the zombies on the beach
choking on sand
about 2/3rds of the way there
we go around the mud
and arrive at the helipad
the orb is right above it
all of us looking up
i am suddenly floating
everyone on the island
was never seen again
