Once social media is monetized
it is no longer social media
as people are incentivized to post what they think will earn them money, instead of just speaking their mind.

Twetch is the exception as not paid by the platform,
but even here you will see people posting what they think will get them likes to earn

Any monetization then shapes the conversation,
especially on a platform like X
and worse on X is a good post is published
then you need hear the same shit from a thousand parrots
all repeating the posts that come up on their feed
Lately on X i just started unfollowing or blocking any accounts i see parrot stuff, but X is shit now, well atm not as bad as it recently was, but they can ramp the propaganda up anytime.
