People choose. Markets don’t. “The market has chosen” is anthropomorphism, and it’s bullshit. A market has no mind, no knowledge and no judgment. Its prices reflect people’s decisions under conditions that can include manipulation, misinformation and outright lies.
Even in the long run, people do the choosing. Meaningful choice requires knowledge, accurate information and the opportunity to evaluate it. If people are deceived, the resulting price does not magically turn that deception into truth.
