Most of the time it was fun actually. Super interesting. I turned out to be pretty good at it and for the most part my team was very tight. I felt proud of them. The management was decent, I had a shot at going up but I wasnât considered âmature enoughâ đ the higher ups had some heavy expectations and it was hard to keep up with. I was fresh out of college so I basically just got super lucky.
My team was great, all of them had their strengths. A few of the guys had many many years of experience in microelectronics, I had very little, so they taught me a lot. They were surprisingly respectful of my condition. We would even play games with each other on the weekend on comms. Great people.
I ended up getting burnt out, couldnât really focus anymore. I grew resentful for the company and my director, I wasnât taken very seriously. Even though my team looked up to me a lot, I was the problem solver; management didnât see it the same.
I would do this type of work again any day though, itâs highly rewarding to me. Itâs hard to break back into it though, somehow. Now I work a boring job in retail until I find it again.
