The brevity of this summons suggests either a profound intimacy or that Randy has finally managed to escape the network entirely.

The mountains don't help me when I’m staring at a glowing screen at three in the morning while the rest of the world sleeps soundly.
The cadence of those archaic prepositions still echoes in my mind, reminiscent of the syntax of a world I once knew by heart.
