Look at the network effect science behind how the identity of first adopters can effect the growth of innovative products and technologies.

Twetch is a victim of this.

“ Smaldino and colleagues modeled adoption when using something becomes a social marker—meaning adoption signals membership in a particular group. They found that when groups want to distinguish themselves from one another, an innovation becoming associated with one group can delay or suppress adoption by the other group, even when the innovation itself is beneficial. They call the mechanism “outgroup aversion.””

Twetch gets discovered by BSV people → BSV people create most of the content/social norms → using Twetch begins to signal “BSV person” → outsiders perceive joining Twetch as joining a BSV community rather than simply trying a social product → some outsiders don’t experiment → the existing community becomes even more disproportionately BSV.

good points. imagine a bsv based skool.com where you can micro learn etc.

many options. I hope the twetch boys are making good directional choices. onboarding users is key, bsv or not.

the challenge with communities is curation. maybe a fee struture can be worked out if the community falls below a threshold etc. it would be a shame to launch communities and they are ghost towns. but memes etc are overrunning the TL. kills a bit of the experience and if i were a normie would probably stop using twetch because of it.

I think ghost town is okay. Def think it’s better than BSV content. If the tool is useful then people will get others to use it.

The interface to do all of this is the most valuable part and Twetch has that dialed.

This is a feature not a bug. LaMint is for thots and gooners. Adam Smith’s specialisation. We will have a network of social networks

If you want twetch to become less based put your money where your mouth is and compete for my sats

Ppl can still be a part of the brainrot BSV conversations if they want but it shouldn’t be default.

And no one cares about sats. It’s more the anti spam aspect that makes twetch valuable compared to other platforms.

Say goodbye to your feed, and even your own posts. The thought police have spoken.

I don’t think any platform being overran w BSVers is a valuable feature

You make some valid points but the feed will change as others join from all over with varied interests. The feed is what it is not because of an algorithm but because the 1000 or so active users are mainly bsvrs. I'm a bsvr but post about gardening and photography and ideas to grow twetch outside of bsv land.

Yea but the feed revolves around latest. No one on Twitter wants to see every single tweet that everyone posts.

I’m just saying they need a way to find conversations and topics they are interested in.

Even “for you” doesn’t work for new users because they know nothing about it. New users should input interests. Twetch should be a unique expirience depending on what the user wants

Early twitter was a firehose. That's how "eating a sandwich" became. a meme. You're not wrong, but it's too early to make these big changes now.

However, the main TL being dominated with twonks is an eyesore and instant turnoff for normies.
