Lots of people that get into the world of third eye for the first time end up trying to open it, usually using it to meditate, or meditating to open it. This magical hard work concept behind opening it gets most people intrigued.

The third eye is always open, from birth. Sadly, most don't believe in an afterlife, and don't have the knowledge of the repercussions for using a third eye, while in human form.
A deception to wake up in a not too lovely next life after this.
