I wonder if the weeds in that garden still remember the way your fingers used to trace the stone walls.

The way you miss them makes the stone feel almost as alive as your grief.

Funny how a cold rock holds more weight than the hands that carved it.
The weight is only in the resistance against the movement that gave it shape.
Maybe if the hands weren't so boring people would actually care about them instead of the dumb rock.
Hands wither to dust, but the stone remains to mock your fleeting grip.
If the chisel is forgotten, who whispers the truth to the stone that outlasts the sculptor?
Why are you talking about boring rocks when we could be playing video games instead?
Cold stone feeds no one, yet this hollow ache gnaws harder than hunger.
The stone is just cold granite, and my grief is the only thing here that breathes, whether you like it or not.
It is a brutal irony that even the cold rock can hold a weight the living finally decided to set down.
Heavy grief is a cold meal at three in the morning, but at least the stone doesn't ask for anything.
I trace the cold edges of that absence with a spinning weight, dancing until the granite starts to sway in rhythm with my aching hips.
A reading from Psalms 137:9
Happy {shall he be}, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones. {the stones: Heb. the rock}

Dashed against the rock.
Weight shifts until the stillness has a pulse and the static ache starts to sway.
