some animals such as the darkling beetle grub or mealworms can get environmental waste such as polystyrene and styrofoam and still remain healthy and eatable to humans, without plant involvement or biodegrading. not many plants eat that stuff fast & live

Correct, you don’t have to eat the animal to get it’s germs. The process of producing animals for consumption is a breeding ground for bacteria and has resulted in many harmful viruses.
