Is marriage a successful plan? I don't think so. What do you think?

pros: cheaper insurance, reduced tax burden

cons: can take all your shit and your kids

stay single:

pros: she has to work to maintain independent insurance - does not become de facto primary parent in divorce

can't take your shit under "marital property"

That's a brilliant analysis @127 😅 Especially if the wife got children, the treatment changes, and the goal becomes taking the children and property. Does this change automatically, or with the help of a third party? Marriage is a necessary evil.

I think the children create a biological shift that makes her realize she IS responsible for something in the world - and separation is the easiest path to avoid accountability from the father.

You don't need marriage to maintain the family.

Without the marriage, she lacks the above incentives to leave (i.e. de facto primary parent, alimony, marital property)
