The Clown

The saddest person in the room, will often be the clown,
Cos the smile you always see him wear is a frown that's upside down.
Lmao, lol, lol, lol, everything's a laugh,
All seems as it should be, til he's back in his own gaff.
Then out come the bottles, bags and pots of pills,
Cos magic tricks and child's play, aren't how he gets his thrills.
His thoughts they are the problem, the thinking never stops,
Spins his head around so fast it feels like it will pop.

But pop it never does, stop it he never can,
That's why he sits inside his flat, a sad and lonely man.
He always wears a smile, but that's to hide away the pain.
Cos even when the sun shines bright, he feels the wind and rain.
He longs for an escape, but can't decide what's right.
He searches for solutions, deep into the night.
To end it all, once and for all, and never have to think?
It's the only answer he can find, so he pours his final, fatal drink.....
