"Niu Lai" (The Bull Comes) is a recently viral Chinese film that tells the inspirational story of a young calf named "Niu Lai," who journeys through trials of growth and the pains of life-and-death separation in his dreams, ultimately learning to take on responsibility. The film was made over five years by director Xin Yumeng and his mother. Despite its crude animation and simple visuals, the movie has risen from an overlooked "flop" to a phenomenal topic of conversation—thanks to its sincere and heartfelt core about family love.
