Maybe it's time to create a blockchain explorer that deserves the name. A tool that makes it possible to find what is - and will be - stored on the chain.

Maybe it's just my ignorance, but the chain still feels like a black hole.

but the future is not guaranteed

You can reference data from any public source and pull it into the ANNE hypergraph (diff sources will require some work)
data can also be retrieved and shared encrypted through the ANNE network's ALT-DATA network using ANTOR an encrypted torrent like file share
The on-chain data then just becomes another source to ANNE, no different to pulling in data from a website
ANNE is built for data but does not store the data on chain.
Data points are stored ad ANNE can retrieve data from node runners who store it or the source if need be.
