It doesn't have to be a BTC miner. Could just be a competing BSV miner offering similar contracts who have more hash than TAAL, which could impact fiat based contract obligations. What happens if they miss settlement times. I'm just thinking possibilities.

If TAAL have an SLA with 1-day settlement, they just need one block per day to fulfil that. How much would a competing BSV miner have to up their hash to prevent TAAL from winning a block?

Now imagine that this 1 block gets orphaned, because its too big for the majority of other miners that refuse to scale up tx-count/blocksize and stick with the block-reward-only business model.
as long as price of BSV is high enough, they can play thisgame
So many miners will have to up their game. This is my point, would TAAL and other big block miners just refuse to build upon these small blockers blocks. Fork them off essentially. Even though they are acting legally. They can come and go freely.
exactly. there is a whole world of obstacles for massive scaling with current mining rules.
And im not a fan at all of altering those rules or forking off.
Fork-offs are death to a healthy Bitcoin eco system.
Proven 2 times already.
Completely agree with you there. I hope I'm wrong but I think there will be a few miners that play games if BTC remains profitable for them. We find out soon enough I suppose. Long term it makes no sense, but being a small blocker never did 🤷♂️
The one day settlement is easier to fulfil for sure. I'm sure they want more transactions than they can fit in one block. But what about smaller time frames? 4 hour etc. TAALs hash will grow going forward massively, it has to in order to guarantee this.
