Maybe it's time to abandon C++ and embrace a language more suited to the mathematical brain ? Give Haskell a go ?

c++ is almost as good as haskell and there's more prior work. I would have to write all my own bitcoin classes if I used it.

Yeah, I pretty much built a new library from the ground up over a 8-month period because my target language lacked one.
I believe there is prior art in Haskell, unless you are taking a radically different approach ?
