Somehow seeing $0.03 on that paywall button feels way more expensive than a like

EV issue

very few paywalls worth anything

$0.03 indicates 60% odds that content will be good - way too high

I'd rather pay 0.05 for content I know to be good than 0.03 on content with a sub-10% probability of being good

i don't think that's it... but yeah. ultimately paywalls will be useful when you have something of real value to share or your favorite content creator or trader shows up and uses it

The 0.03 will feel a lot cheaper when it's a known entity putting it out

Paywall is ugly sounding. I like something nice.

I fear the paywall is going to lure me in and then I will be trapped. How will I return to yesterday or visit tomorrow. Anxiety fills my veins. I am tension in my chair. I feel my face inflamed, jaw clinched.

I think its the risk/reward element of not knowing what youre paying for.

whereas you give a like because you intentionally want the user to acknowledge you like their content

cuz you have no idea if what is behind it will be something you like...
