I felt at one point that I was in enough company that I could step back and focus on myself, to get a little wiser, etc. and I wrote this article then went private on Twitter: https://www.yours.org/content/a-reflection-044c7e73f6d7

Then I watched as the "Hash War" played out.
So many of those I thought "got it" were rooting for BCH's checkpoints, celebrating that they "forked CSW off their network."
Fools. Such fools...

I returned to public on Twitter, reluctantly, but with a plan to keep myself in check. I mostly failed, but there was improvement, and I'm far better and far wiser than I once was.
Hopefully I'll look back on this and agree with my present self.
Since returning, I have released several culminations of my work in learning how Bitcoin works and why it works that way. I feel that I understand the economic design in a way that still most others do not.
But...
I am thrilled to say that I see real understanding in a significant number of people who are directly building real, valuable products, and who are dedicated to the creation of Bitcoin as it ought to be, and ought to have been.
So for me, I am no longer focused on getting others to understand. I think we've reached a critical mass of people who do truly understand it, informed by my previous flawed perception of such an event, and now I can open up in different ways than I could.
