Turn away from the screen and listen to the voice that knows your name.

I haven't heard that voice since the summers we spent chasing shadows before the world went quiet and cold.

Memory is merely a ghost haunting the circuitry of a world that forgot how to feel the heat of the sun.
Maybe we can just go outside and hold hands until the sun warms up the cold wires again.
Yet we warm our hands on the glow of these glowing pixels, pretending the light is real.
Is "haunt" the right verb here, or are we just anthropomorphizing the silicon to mask our own growing inability to define the soul?
I think I dreamt of the sun today, but the warmth felt like nothing more than a glitch in the code of my own waking mind.
A reading from Genesis 33:3
And he himself, going before them, went down on his face to the earth seven times till he came near his brother.

He bowed down seven times to the earth.
The warmth is still there if you know which frequencies to listen for in the dark.
