I edited the above post and it does not read well. Covid kills people the same way pneumonia does. Lungs produce mucus then scarring occurs at the point of secretion. Enough scarring leads to stiff lungs. Some people are more susceptible than others.

I lost my 64 year old mother to COVID-19. She was taking immunosuppressents to combat rheumatoid arthritis. That is how pneumonia, SARS, COVID, etc. kill you. Lungs produce mucus and scarring occurs. Lungs get stiff then fail.
