I think we flee the USA. It's simultaneously the most powerful country in the world and a rapidly decaying empire. A terrible combination.
Optimism and entrepreneurship cannot save a sinking ship.
We should live and build elsewhere.

Optimism and entrepreneurship cannot save a sinking ship.
We should live and build elsewhere.
Mass propaganda, demonizing of dissidents and minority groups, massive state intervention to "protect" the nation, economic stress (and incoming inflation).
We're one epidemic away from the American version, and I already know who the scapegoats will be.
Proof coming soon.
I'd rather not be on a list.
I don't trust the relevant authorities to "get the obvious joke."
And we don't know beforehand whether higher-cost tx's yield beneficial competition or whether they're unnecessary.
This is the same line of reasoning that makes people conclude "It'd more efficient if there was only one provider of electricity."
Not even in the economic sense, either, unless we assume that Bitcoin is the final-money-for-all-time.
If there's ever a future innovation that makes better money, we'll need competition and plurality to figure it out. Equilibrium is never reached.
Highest IQ in the world =/= smartest person in the world. Lots of idiots have high IQ's.
But Chris does seem like a thinking person, and I always enjoy hearing ideas from people with a chip on their shoulder.
The most sophisticated mathematical models cannot predict the motion of your slippers through your house.
Big blocks might eventually be seen as a novel solution to Bitcoin's scaling problems.
The amazing technological breakthrough: putting everybody's transactions on the blockchain. A new paradigm!
Just switched the Twetch wallet. How did MoneyButton actually get worse over time? The UX looks intentionally harmed.
For example, it doesn't even show the full Bitcoin address I just sent money to. It's truncated instead. How is that an honest mistake?
This is a real screenshot. I can't see the full address. Can't click on it to expand. Can't copy it. Have to go to block explorer, for goodness sake.
It's a wallet app!

I think finding the truth by process of elimination is a great method - just like finding what you like by eliminating what you don't.
Once you figure out enough not-truths, you start to see patterns and can quickly see through future falsehoods.
Logic also has something to say here, since finding a not-truth is finding truth!
If you can truthfully say, "X is not true", then you can say, "It is true that X is not true."
Bingo! It doesn't tell you much concrete about the world, but still something
Irresistible title. Good listen.
The pursuit of truth eventually leads to the realization that the truth is incredibly hard to reach. The world is so damn complex.
Keep seeking, but understand you've probably not yet found!
Yep - they're going with a different business model.
Gonna be hard to improve on that.
Art can certainly be a method for discovering truth and communicating it to others.
Another autistic fallacy:
"Mathematical modeling accurately predicts the motion of inanimate objects; therefore, mathematical modeling accurately predicts the motion of humans."

On the longevity of harmful medical practices:
It is easier to harm somebody with a medical procedure than to believe you're harming somebody with a medical procedure.
If Brian said "circles don't exist", I would have been able to retire happy.
Instead, he said "Euclidean circles certainly exist in the world, and I've seen them."
After such a sin, I thought only the courts (or Satan himself) could sort Brian out.

The international response to COVID demonstrates that there is not a separation of church and state. The priests have simply changed faiths.
