From the original post I was just explaining why personally I’m annoyed with giveaways, and I agree that thinking is the best counter to all this.

It doesn’t make sense but people still participate because they think the little amount they can put in can be returned exponentially.
Most people don’t realize by giving traffic to these giveaways your taking away from traffic towards yourself.

I don’t participate in them, but those posts take away from everyone by diverting traffic to them. It’s in everyone’s incentive to try and stop these noob traps

It's in everyone's incentive to stop interacting with those type of giveaway. The less engagement directed toward those type of posts is engagement that can be directed towards constructive posts.
