No, you're right. It's conditioning. And there is no such thing as an acceptable conspiracy, Jewish or otherwise. I would say it's important to distinguish between faithful practicing Jews and those involved in conspiracies.

I would add that the priest by his very nature is an activist. He functions in Persona Christi Capitis (in the Person of Christ the Head). Christ did not come to be served, but to serve, and to offer his life as a ransom for many.

Unfortunately, it would seem so, largely due to poor catechesis and narcissistic clergy. We have also seen a dumbing down of the faith, which fails to challenge or empower the people or worse, even seeks to subvert certain core teachings (as above).

Priests and ministers who fail to recognize this, and who offer a blessing for a couple in a state of grave sin, commit sin themselves by not informing them that the union they're in is sinful. What is more important? Blessing sin or saving souls?

The issue with blessing same-sex unions is the appearance that the Church condones such unions, which it does not. Further, a Catholic in a same-sex union has already excommunicated themselves simply by being in an illicit and sinful union.
