It's the last point which creates almost an equivalency for all opportunity costs. If CSW tried to force a significantly bad protocol change, arguing he is a net negative has clearly more substance than had you made that argument prior to the attempt.

Twetch is really great.
Would be cool to be able to mute, to turn off retweets, to only see replies to accounts you follow, and to block (not just trolltoll). If you follow too many, your timeline clogs up pretty quick.
Pethaps this point has been made already, but if entrepreneurs are hesitant to build because of a threat of lawsuits, utility clearly diminishes, or at the very least is delayed greatly.
I don't think he care whether the threats represent a group within BSV or not. I think he sees them and go "nah".
I meant branches lol
Yes, life was bliss for Roger facing threats while landing on Antigua or Barbuda. I bet he woke up burning with enthusiasm to build on BSV.
They sent me to the Revolutionary Tribunal for the crime of "greedily hoarding", while refusing to acknowledge that my greed would have me invest the money immediately if profitable opportunities in fact existed.

They proclaimed hard money was useless. As the sky falls, they petition in confusion and desperation for legislation making paper "as good as gold".
#JustFiatThings
They boasted their inconvertible paper was the road to prosperity. Now the city roads are littered with it.

THE FOUNTAINHEAD is my contribution to keeping America what it was and must remain -- the country of individualism.
They said they were just going to stabilize prices and boost the velocity of money, and now my family has been reported to the murderous Committee of Public Safety.
#JustFiatThings ¯_(ツ)_/¯
You can get over your enjoyment of being poor at 50k BTC, 100k BTC, or 500k BTC. The choice is yours.
(Keyvan is a really nice guy who is very enthusiastic about Bitcoin. It might not be intentional.)
In the last Bitcoin podcast I was on, I essentially bashed BTC as money iirc. This was the headline at episode drop. You either die by the PAMP, or live long enough to become part of it.
Debasement poetry from 16th century Iran.
Scronty's head boiled the oceans before it was cool:
"My head runs hot due to the amount of effort the brain's putting into the issue. Hot like when normal folks get ill and run a fever."
"I began reading through the document - understanding very little. Hashing and encrypting and decrypting and private keys and public keys. Different types of hashing algorithms, encrypting then hashing and hashing then encrypting. Oh my!"
Relatable!

0.01 fee is almost 4M/year. People are not going to use a 21M network costing them 4M annually lol
The users of money suffers the total costs of that money.
10k fee would indicate >10% cost on using the money if replacing gold and fiat currencies. The market picks something else.
Well, they will if their clients are willing to pay that sum and get poor, which is a somewhat pessimistic view of the market.
Banks have to profit, and charge clients more than incurred settlement fees. 10k fee with 1M txs/day is almost 4T/year. That's way more expensive than fiat, so people won't use it.
Bitcoin can't be expected to have total fees above 1-3% p.a after subsidy ending, or better money will be chosen. This means more than 97% of resources will always go to other than hashing SHA256. Bitcoin can't boil the oceans.
Scronty's take on Bitcoin mining was one of the most surprising things on the interview with @4179. It sounded like he did not understand the obvious relation between the amount of resources going into Bitcoin mining, and the value of Bitcoin.
It can't sustain any fee level above a couple of percentage points. During short periods, fees can sky rocket though.
Furthermore, the value of money relates to the future economy (production, or asks). If production declines due to climate troubles, so does the SHA256 hashing.
Thanks Isaac! My impression of Phil from that interview alone is that he is not a scammer, and that he does not have the peoples skills to even attempt that level of social engineering. But it's also so strange with the memory holes and lack of emails...
What does CSW say about Scronty? Corroborates some of the story, or dismisses it fully?
And not only that, he saw the above as a good thing, in order to catapult humanity from the burning Earth to outer space. What the hell man. Asimov transforms people into totalitarian "saviors". Don't trust people talking about the human species too much.

If Satoshi put a 10 mb block size limit in, it is obvious BTC would thrive as much, if not more, than today. If some entity is to tinker with this limit ad hoc with hard forks, while trying to herd cats, I would sell all my BTC immediately.
