Biggest value is INCREASING accessibility and optimizing match of supply/demand for my time.
Rn requests for time from strangers come with equal weight, even though some value it way more I can't see that.
Let them signal via meeting my price per unit.
Definitely the case. But social capital has limited range. The less info/access to someone, the less SC. Meaningful signals (like who they know, how well they spell, etc.) are helpful but leave many gaps.
Price signals could fill in some of those gaps.
+variable for type of mtg and location.
call is one price, zoom another, meet same city another, travel to meet another.
20 min call in workday? $50. 2 hour talk at conference w/travel? $10k
No email back and forth. All booked in $ calendar app.

it's not that unusual for nonprofits to get donations from donors that ask to be anonymous. sometimes out of humility, sometimes to avoid being hounded by fundraisers for other nonprofits who see the gift.
