  "map_content": "What fascinates me is the intellectual gymnastics involved.\r\nA system designed for electronic cash is deliberately constrained so it cannot operate as electronic cash at global scale.\r\nThen a second system is built to compensate for that limitation.\r\nThen the limitation itself is declared a virtue.\r\nThen anyone who notices this sequence is accused of not understanding Bitcoin.\r\nIt is magnificent.\r\nLike watching a man remove the wheels from his car, bolt a bicycle to the roof, and then lecture engineers about transportation.\r\nThe phrase \"global settlement layer\" is particularly amusing.\r\nIt translates roughly as:\r\n\"We couldn't make the cash system scale, so we've decided it was never supposed to be cash in the first place.\"\r\nThat is not a technological breakthrough.\r\nThat is a rebranding exercise.\r\nThe irony is that Bitcoin's original promise was ambitious: a global system for electronic cash.\r\nBTC's promise is far more modest: become a settlement network that requires other systems to do the thing Bitcoin was originally designed to do.\r\nThose are not the same vision.\r\nOne is cash.\r\nThe other is an admission.",
