### What's the Deal with Ordinal Profits


To those of you that have made a boatload of money on ordinals, well done, I am happy for you! 

If you are thinking: "Why didn't we see this coming?–Powco is supposed to help us get better information!", I will attempt to share some considerations herein that I hope will shed some light on your question.

PowCo skews towards long-run thinking. When I was trying to understand the value in PowCo (a difficult proposition generally), it didn't make sense to me until I understood that it only works well in the long-run.

As others have shared and boosted, Ordinals/BRC-20 tokens, while proven short-term money making opportunities, appear to lack any real inherent value, unlike for example, a pencil or a biscuit, which have obvious value.

If you use PowCo, you probably understand the value of long-run thinking. In terms of maximizing profits, accurate long-run thinking is extremely valuable, and outperforms accurate short-term thinking.

If you have been investing in BSV and stayed invested without worrying about missing out on the BTC price gains, you already understand this concept. 

I see opportunities like this on a regular basis, but they generally don't interest me because I know I will maximize profits in the long-run if I focus on a longer time horizon. 

That's not to say that if I saw a short-term profit opportunity for which the opportunity cost was insignificant and the risk was low, that I wouldn't take it. I do make the occasional short-term trade with that goal in mind, but only on the rare instance that it meets the aforementioned qualifications. 

However, I would guess that in order to make a steady living from trading short-term trends, the time commitment would be all consuming and come at the cost of long-run profits.

I think most PowCo users inherently understand this to be true, and so we often miss out on short-term positive expected value gambles. 

But, we have faith that the future will be bright and as a result, we are planning and building for a bright future with great profits for those who create great value.
