The law doesn’t care about the context through which you receive the stolen property, it only cares that the person that gave it to you didn’t have title to do so.  It sees separate crimes. First, the original theft, by force, deception or other.  Then second, a conveyance without title.  A bona fide purchaser only has recourse against the seller and is obligated to return the property to its original owner.  Again, verify with your own counsel.
