“Moonset Over Lake
Huron/Michigan

The sky out there, star-sparkled
forever
Over the endless horizon, is
busy
With wind of such FEROCIOUS
velocity,
Along with streaks of burning
debris

And the pulsing flashes of
the
Brilliant and continuous heat
lightning;

While the Moon,
This ‘harvest’ Moon-set, huge and
waxing half,
Glides quietly, all eerie and
orange-like, past
It all and into the flat and brooding
abyss

Of this churning inland sea
in front of me...

For a refreshing midsummer
dip.
Or quite simply it’s the
trip
Into tomorrow.”
